Awards and Recognitions

Among chapters at the 89 pharmacy schools in the country, Mercer's chapter of ASP has received for six years the highest award presented by the American Pharmaceutical Association. Recognition for being the most outstanding chapter in the nation, based on competition for numerous service and academic projects performed by our students, was given at the national conventions in Anaheim, CA, in 1989; in Washington, D.C., in 1990; in New Orleans, LA, in 1991; in Dallas, TX, in 1993; in Miami Beach, FL, in 1998, and in Washington, D.C., in 2000. The chapter received awards for placing as second runner-up in national competition at conventions in Orlando, FL, in 1995; in Nashville, TN, in 1996; in Los Angeles, CA, in 1997.
